Get Standalone Running

#1

I would like to, if possible, use the OS.js frontend without the server portion. I configured my client/config.js to:

export default {
  standalone: true,
  auth: {
    login: {
      username: 'demo',
      password: 'demo'
    }
  }
}

However, that doesn’t seem to work. Or at least, not the way I was expecting. Maybe what I’m trying to do is misguided or maybe I’m doing it wrong. Anyone have any advice?

#2

Are you running from file:// ?

#3

If so, make sure to follow all the steps!

https://manual.os-js.org/v3/guide/standalone/

#4

I’m running from http via an Apache server. That should work, right?

#5

For what it’s worth - I get the exact same result from running from file://
I’ve read the documentation many times now and I’m pretty much at a loss. I assume I must be missing something.

Ideally, I would like to run the front-end without the server-side component (served up on an Apache webserver). Maybe that isn’t possible?

Is there some kind of configuration that I’m missing?

#6

Maybe you forgot to run npm run package:discover ?

#7

For anyone else looking at this, this was solved in a recent @osjs/client update.
